Michael & Jana's Engagement

OK, time for something different! As some of you may know, we travel for a couple of months each year. Most recently we returned from Ireland/UK/France in June. On the way home we had a brief stop in Sydney for the Australian Professional Photography Awards, a highlight in the photography calendar each year!

Michael and Jana live in Sydney but will be tying the knot down in Byron Bay early November this year (which we are really looking forward to!). When we first met with Michael and Jana we came up with a great idea for a slightly different style of engagement shoot. These guys love their food! They have even travelled the world to visit amazing restaurants. Once the idea was out there, they knew straight away just the perfect place to catch up for lunch and take a couple of images.

We met at Restaurant Quay on the Sydney Harbour just by the Harbour Bridge. We had the most awesome time, it was so great to enjoy a meal with them both at Quay sharing stories about food and travels (also happened to be our first proper meal back in Australia, a great way to be welcomed home!). Michael's Brother is one of the incredibly talented Chefs in the kitchen at Quay and can make some of the most delectable deserts in the world! it seems that the love for food is in the family. I can't wait to enjoy the wedding in November, no doubt the dining will be off the charts.

Normally we don't get the chance to blog our engagement shoots but this time I thought it wouldn't be fair if we didn't share it!

On a side note - I couldn't recommend highly enough that you visit Quay at least once in your life, it is an inspirational experience. I am sure that we will re-visit every time we are in Sydney in the future! My culinary highlight is definately the '8 texture chocolate cake' that has a warm syrup poured over when it is served at your table and proceeds to implode before you, who knew....
